Deployment

Though we've known that Matt would deploy for a long time now, it still wasn't easy to see him go. We are so so proud of his service and thankful for their sacrifice... just also really sad for the long time apart. I am so overwhelmed with gratefulness for the many families in our military that endure the challenges that come with deployment for all of us. Our country is so blessed.

The kids and I went down to see them that weekend and provide distraction, love and company for a few days. The Lord provided amazingly beautiful weather that helped cheer us all up and make those first days go quickly. His peace truly transcends all understanding and was so evident there. :)

Before leaving for the airport...

As I mentioned, the weather was gorgeous and we soaked it up, taking almost every opportunity we could to be out there.

Oddly enough, we didn't get any pictures of the kids riding their bikes even though it was what they did most of the time! It was really fun. One day for lunch, we strolled the babies while the big kids rode down to the neighborhood park. Oh, how I miss doing this on a daily basis with them!!

And just in case you're having a bad day...love and cuteness everywhere!

All kids love Jenn :)

A wagon ride and tea party...

And finally, our last night...baby baths and movie night.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 says "And so we keep on praying for you, that our God will make you worthy of the life to which he called you. And we pray that God, by his power, will fulfill all your good intentions and faithful deeds." We are praying for you, Matt and will take good care of your three. We love you!

Valentine's Day, Co-op Style

The Gs had a great time getting ready for Valentine's Day with some of our co-op friends. They ate lunch, made cards for Daddy, decorated and ate frosted heart cookies and played kickball (exercised their heart muscles :)). I just love this sweet group of familes!

And I fell down on the picture-taking job at home on Vday, but it was candy, cards, little presents and heart pancakes with hugs and kisses. :) Happy love month to all!

Big Game Weekend

Have I mentioned that our boy loves football these days? He counted down the days until the Super Bowl. :) We turned it into a full weekend of activity for him and it was really fun.

Jenn found a great Super Bowl craft online and sent it to us. The boys worked on it together Friday night.

.The finished product...our very own Lombardi trophy! The perfect father-son craft :)

On Saturday, we made some jello by mixing colors to make a brown football and different color football helmets. G chose blue for Boise State, red for Alabama & Georgia and purple for TCU. (I don't know why...we just went with it.) Then Sunday afternoon, we picked up his buddy Davis to come watch the game. The jello was tough to get out of the molds and didn't all turn out great, but we got a few.

Boys and their after dinner Super Bowl treats...
. Lots of tackling during the game...on and off screen :)

A calm moment

It's gonna be a long 6 months until football starts again!

Old School Fun

Birthday party at the local roller skating rink...so funny to flashback 20 or so years and experience it again with our kiddos! :)
. I wasn't fast enough with the camera to capture Greer skating...she was done after 15 minutes and just enjoyed running around and playing the rest of the time.

Whoa!

With buddies Grayson and Bryson...hard to stay on their feet. ;)

And finishing off with the hokey-pokey and chicken dance...

So cute and fun...we just might have to do it again as a family night :)

My view on Fridays when we're all home :)

I don't think she will ever wonder if she is loved...

Constant happy disposition :)

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful girl...

And finally, what the 95th percentile looks like... :)
