Laughter IS Good Medicine

My heart feels full when I think of these girls. I am blessed to have them in my life and had such a great time last weekend just being together! We missed you, Kel!

We did some eating...
.
And some hanging out downtown...
.
Some game-playing...

And LOTS of laughing!! It was my favorite part. :)

There was time spent at the spa...

And some fondue sharing...

We didn't do much in the way of sleeping, but there is nothing like laughing until your side hurts and your eyes are wet with tears, or feeling free to be yourself and knowing you are loved or sharing your heart and prayer needs with godly women who genuinely care. I love and miss you girls already! Thank you for a soul-refreshing weekend!

Greer's Baby Doll Party

To celebrate Greer turning 2,
Bring your baby doll or favorite friend with you.
We’ll take them to get checkups, feed & bathe them too,
Just like we see our mommies and daddies do.

Greer loves baby dolls. Everytime we go over to Madi's house, she goes straight for her baby doll stroller and diaper bag and pretends to be a little mama to the babies. It is so sweet! When we started thinking about what we wanted to do for her party, we knew that she would love something with a baby doll theme. It isn't easy to find something already put together for this, but we were thankfully able to find a little bit of help on the internet from some other party moms.

We settled on having four stations for the little "parents" of the babies to take them to. An area to bathe and dress. An area to eat. A portrait gallery to get the babies' picture made. And a doctor's office to get a checkup for the baby. Our grand plan included a diagram of the setup on the deck in our backyard with areas in the grass for the kids to play and adults to visit. All week the weather looked as if it would cooperate. Even the day of, we saw a 10% chance of rain forecasted and a clear radar. As you might would guess, it was not to be. It rained non-stop the entire day. Finally, at lunch time, I gave up on the backyard plan and started setting up inside for the afternoon party. It wasn't quite as I had pictured, but still really fun. And cozy. :)

Preview of girls weekend!
Greer & Bebe

Thank you to everyone for all the baby doll stuff!! Greer has loved all of it and is so glad to be starting a collection of girly toys after playing the past couple of years with lots of Gehrig's dinosaurs, balls and trucks. She just sits and plays with the babies forever! And a special thanks to everyone who played a role in the party...Bebe & Jessica Wells ran the bath station, Dr. Jen came as herself and Jessica Watson was our official photographer! They were great! (And we finally got a pic of our two blond Jessica Ws that we love so much!)

A Day at the Races

Steph is my sweet friend and first-ever running partner. We used to meet at the track and run together 5 years or so ago before kids. We were so excited to work up to 2 or 3 miles then! Now, Steph is training for a half marathon!! As part of her training, she came to run a 10k with me last weekend. It was so fun to do it together...I just love her!

Here we are at the finish line! It was so sweet to finish up to Gehrig's cheering. :)

Yay!

Matt also ran with, well ahead of us!

Sweet friends from SS that also ran...Shanan, Melinda & Melissa.

Afterwards, there was a 1k for the kids. Cameron, Hudson, Gehrig, Madi, Mason & Cole...are they the cutest ever?

Gehrig is loving these races!

The prizes for the runners...doughnuts and medals. Perfect.

Four of our girls from the old girls group...Jenn, Katie, me and Steph.

I SO miss these families being together all the time!!! I love being with them, but am always sad afterwards that everyone always MOVES AWAY!! Thanks y'all for coming...it was great!

And, just because she is cute...
