Our sweet Movius friends invited us to camp with them Memorial Day weekend. Though none of us (in either family!) had ever been, we decided to give it a go. Thankfully, we had help from friends with equipment and lots of experience. I followed their advice and went by their lists (sometimes not sure why I was packing some things) and was so thankful! We had everything we needed when it was all said and done. :)
All packed up in Daddy's truck and ready to go!
Our campsite. It is so nice to have a beautiful lake super close to where we live...makes me want to do better about enjoying it more :)
Getting set up...we must have been hilarious to watch, but it turned out great!
Meanwhile, the kiddos had fun playing :)
Heading down to the lake to try out the fishing and swimming. The water was so still and beautiful.
Dinner time...that's a lot of stuff to pack!
We also tried out making a chocolate turtle cake dessert in the dutch oven...amazing and so yummy :)
We were the only campsite that we saw there that didn't have a camper or RV...thankfully for us, the weather could not have been more perfect. Clear skies, cool evening temps and air mattresses made for pretty nice accommodations :). I'm actually glad we got to experience outdoor sleeping...even if we learned that whippoorwills never sleep!
Loved all the outside and imaginative play...
And the scenery...we were on a peninsula with the sun setting on one side and a beautiful full moon on the other.
The nighttime visiting may have been my favorite :)
Knocked out sweetness :)
We left the tent cover off and woke to a beautiful morning sky...
My view...love.
The morning temp was in the 40s...perfect for bundling up and sleeping bag snuggling :)
Saturday morning cartoons :)
We headed home that morning and had the kids go lay down before we ventured out for the day...all 3 of them slept for 3 hours!
Such sweet family/friend time and fun memories. Looks like we may start saving up for some camping gear! :)))
