october camping and a hurricane :/

For several weeks, we planned and waited excitedly for our five-family camping trip weekend to arrive!  Close-by to home, a beautiful wooded spot surrounding a cove with lots of room to run and some of the sweetest families to spend time with...we couldn't wait!!  And then, of all days of the whole year, the effects of a hurricane were forecasted for that Friday.  Not as bad here as for those on the coast for sure, but enough rain and wind that it wasn't wise to set up tents and popups for that night.  So, with a bit of sadness, we adjusted our plans to aim for just a full day visit on Sunday and one overnight for the Masseys and Links Saturday into Sunday.  We borrowed the Brinks' kayaks and loaded up, determined to get what we could from the weekend!

Saturday at lunch...the lake was oh so low!  But it provided even more room to roam and a little relief from water worry for mamas with littles :)

Home away from home...love so much!

Blue skies peeking through!

And daddies getting us set up :)

The Links brought great hammocks...

And the big girls will always find a tree to climb :)

The great outdoors :)

And our little setup view from the water...

Photobomber :)

And cute matching boys

Dinner over the fire :))

And some of my favorite views ever...

The moonlight and dry cove bed was perfect for some night play...so wish our other camping friends could've joined us for it!

And family time back at the campfire...

Best way to start a cool morning...

And sweet company waking to prep breakfast :)

And Sunday friends arrive!

Such a beautiful day!

And some selfie love for the whole crew!

Sweetest Sprouses

And big kids kayaking

Adorable littles

And bigs alike ;)

And finishing a gorgeous day with campfire visiting and lake fun

So hopeful we can try it all again soon!  I think we've found our favorite local lake spot for sure :)
