six flags summer finale

Although it's not that far away, we had never been to Six Flags in Atlanta.  This year, we got some free passes from the kids' reading/school program and made a plan with the Ruckers to go for the day at the end of July.  Gehrig was super pumped about it all and happy to help with lunch prep the night before...

However, I soon realized the number of ants on the logs was turning into a competition ;)

Silly boy :).  Whatever makes helping out fun haha...

Next morning, up and off early with the girls in one car and boys in another...love

Checking it all out

And family pic to start.  Love these so much

Garn loves her Mrs. Rucker

And these two are pretty great too...B couldn't hold the pose ;)

So big

Gehr is all about it...the Blue Hawk was one of everybody's favorites

The 6...

"Let's do the Greer pose!"

Mama/Garner carousel time while the others rode big

Buds :)

It was HOT...but thankful for a good bit of cloud cover to keep us from completely melting...

And the Superman ride...B and I cracked up at the fact that we both took these pics without realizing the other was doing the same thing...seriously, so much fun :))

Meanwhile, Jen took these cuties on the old-timey car ride.  The cuteness is almost too much to bear...

A little balloon ride to rest and visit...

And then, a rain delay.  We were so close to getting on the big one, Goliath...

And instead, played some checkers and talked and ran in the rain :))

They're like two little old men...

Finally open again!  This crew headed back up and loved it...

While Chris was kind to hang with the littles

Heading out at closing time...we didn't want it to end!

And her treat for something...I can't remember what ;)

Truly, one of the most fun days I can remember...so thankful for these friends and the opportunity to have sweet experiences with our kiddos.  Such a great way to wrap up summer break...hoping it works out to just do it all again next year :))

guys' getaway

Watching our kids grow up is both a little sad and so much fun all at the same time.  We knew that Gehrig would be entering lots of new territory this fall when he started middle school and public school in general for the first time, so B took him for a guys' trip to chat about some of those things and just spend time together.  They both truly loved every minute...

B picked such a great place for them...so much to do and yet, pretty quiet...

As a mama, I couldn't be more thankful for a dad who takes this time and loved hearing about their time together.  I think they've decided to make it a new tradition each summer and I hope they do :))

papa's :)

We so love our time at Papa's house each summer.  We love the one-on-one time with him to visit and the views and relaxing aren't bad either :)

He and Rosie got the kids some paper lanterns to try out...really cool to watch fly over the water...

Good sleepin'

And dock time before our boatride

Hard to beat a beautiful day on the water with these :))

And this view isn't bad either.  It's always good to go and always good to go home too :)

10 days of travel will take it out of you ;)

At least two of them anyway...it takes a bit more to wear out Greer!  So thankful for Papa's always great hospitality and safety in travel.  It was a great trip all the way around and perfect to get home with a few weeks to go before school starting :))
