It's been months in the making. With B's schedule and the obvious financial obstacle, it hasn't worked out to take the kiddos to Disney in years past. But finally, last year we started working on a plan with the Links, without telling the kids. Initially, it felt like it was forever away! But as November and December and all of the holiday activities came around, January 11th started coming much quicker. :)
We told the kids we were going to see Madi. (And we were. :)) Here they are on the way, happy and unaware of all that lies ahead!
We met the Links for dinner and to make the big reveal. The kids were thrilled just to see each other! :)
We gathered them for a picture, Jenn gave them some Disney gear and we told them to smile and say "We're going to Disney World TODAY!!"
It took a little while to register and Gehr had some logistical questions (like "How long will it take to get there?" and "So, does this mean we're not going to Madi's house?"), but they finally understood and were very excited. :)
After another few hours, we made it in time for bed. Both families stayed together in one of their villas and it was so nice and roomy! I snuck some Disney friends in a bag from home and before too long, the kids were fast asleep, dreaming about Disney. :)
More Disney blogs to come...probably separated by day. BUT before that, I must say that the Links were so awesome. They know that place inside and out, do life just like we do and planned the days perfectly for us. We would have been LOST without them and not had nearly as much fun. :)
