johnsons visit

The Johnsons are one of the several families from our old SS class that moved from here during the last few years.  Thankfully, they live fairly close to our fam in Atlanta, so we've been able to see them there from time to time.  We always love visiting with them and were thrilled to have them come visit here in June.  They have 3 kiddos as well and they all remind us of ours in looks and personality.  It's remarkable.

Harper and Gehrig look and act alike and get along so well...

And Sydney has the same big brown eyes and curly hair as Garner does :)

Girl time...Greer loved being a little mama to Sydney :)

...and sharing her baby doll toys with her too.

The bigs spent lots of time drawing...

...and enjoying their after dinner treats :)

Little Bryce was never far from Garner...so sweet and protective of her!

Bryce, Garner, Harper, Gehrig, Greer and Sydney...super easy pic to get and easy weekend all the way around.  I don't think any of them argued once.  So good and cute together!

A little backyard play before they headed out...investigating some kind of beetle here, I think

And B and I got to catch up with Nick and Jenny too.  Really love time with them.

Should've gotten a pic of the dads too ;)  Love y'all and hope to see you again soon!

bourne reunion 2013

We were super sad to miss the reunion this year and thus not have our annual post of what a great and special time it was.  :(  The kids instead sent this video to the fam there.  Even though they are laughing/smiling, they really were sad...they just can't help being silly all.the.time.

See y'all there next year!

couple of days with the ruckkids

Early in June, the Rucker kids were coming to stay with us for a couple of days while Jen went out of town.  Our kids counted down!

Happy and cute :)

Sad for them that it rained a bunch and kept them from outside playtime.  Playdoh and playing catch on the porch :)

Love the full table!  Grateful again to have a space now to fit us all at once.

We had fun asking and answering questions at dinner...cracked up at Gentry's answer to his favorite snack.  They love Garner so sweetly :)

For movie night, they picked Elf.  We watch it year-round here ;)

Day 2, Garner snuck away for some quiet time with her paci and lovey.  She technically followed the rules of keeping it in the bed by crawling up on the twin in her room.  Sneaky :)

Ready for playtime!

Greer played a little dress-up...so cute!

Fun playing hide-and-seek

And amazing.  All six found a quiet spot to nap or read/rest while I worked for a couple of hours that afternoon.  So thankful for their helpfulness!

We finished the afternoon with some sewing lessons from Annalise...

We are blessed and thankful to have great friends to go back and forth with...that do life the same and cause little to no change in regular routines.  So helpful for us as parents and such a treat for our kids!  Love you guys!

miller play day

B's summer schedule is still pretty busy, but different enough to allow for fun on random days mid-week.  When it timed up well with Tucker's day off, we planned a fun day in the country with the Millers.  We were just bummed that Brandi was out of town for work.  :(

Fishing gear in tow :)

Girls in the playhouse and boys heading to the pond...

While Garner napped, the big girls played quietly...

...and I spent the afternoon here reading.  I never let myself do that at home with work and chores calling for my attention.  It was wonderful :)

Boys back and showing the spoils of their labors...the dads were happier than they look here ;)

Afternoon swinging while we dug in the garden some...love.

So thankful for their sweet friendships, easygoing and relaxed time together and a country home so close.  We love it there and love them!

finishing out may

Found this note from Greer...not sure when she wrote it or what for.  Perhaps just one to use as needed :)

Girls had a froyo date with Dada after Greer got on pink (highest color on behavior chart) at school!

They make me smile with their sleeping.  They have so much bed space to choose from (2 double beds and 2 twins when you count the bunks/trundle) and they are this close to each other.  Really love it.

The boy is making headway with the Narnia books.  Oh, and homemade bookmark :)

Enjoyed time with Lilly one evening at Daddy's game...

Late night Braves game-watching with Mama

Gehrig's baseball team this spring

And a sweet note from Greer's teacher.  The year wasn't always easy, but it was good :)

Love

Garner randomly took a nap in the twin bed in her room one day.  Not any closer to leaving the crib yet though.  Mama's a little slow to transition with the baby of the fam!

Since Daddy was away for baseball playoff games on Co-op Family Night, the kids came home and displayed their projects and awards...

...and Gehr made a baseball field out of cardstock for him too :)

Sweet Mammaw visit at one of Gehrig's games

Enjoyed one of my faves (Romans 12) in school Bible time with Gehr...

He illustrated verse 2 from the passage, drawing gears to show our minds being transformed.

Little mama.  "I change her di-po."

And listening to Gehrig read.  I've decided that hearing someone read must soothe her like nothing else.  She doesn't care what it is, but she wants us to read and read and read to her.

Pulled out my phone/cam one morning in Sunday School to catch Gehr dancing.  Love that I get to see him there :)

Memorial Day fun and learning and remembering...

AND tattoos :)

3hr morning at our used bookstore...found lots of our chapter books for school next year!

Looking through the Bible, she says repeatedly, "God is so good." :))

First pigtails!

Her first time swimming this year, I think.  She had watched the bigs go to swim practice every day and was so ready!

Sweet Avery swam with her :)

Silly and snuggly

Makeup, pjs and reading...

Why does this make her look so big?

Silly with Brooklyn at Wyatt's birthday party

Gehrig loved the cars!

Cute little date for Camp and Greer

Joined by the big brothers :)

And the Popes

Sure do love these boys

Fun, busy, crazy, tough month...thankful for summer!!
