papa visit

After camp, we headed to Papa's for our annual summer visit.  This year, Britt, Margaret and Brock joined us too!

So beautiful and peaceful

Pool with Uncle Britt :)

Fun on the boat.  Garner had to be convinced of the necessity for the life jacket, but was great after that...

So cool to see and even get to feed the dolphins in the river!

Captain Papa :))

B and the kids got in a quick swim before dark

Sparklers!  Our kids were so excited :)  Happy 4th!

The littles attacked Britt :)

And we all headed out to visit the buffalo farm!

It's not every day...

It was really cool and counted as a little homeschool field trip too, I think :)).  We finished up with a quick lunch out and some more visiting...love

Garner represented us all well with her instant crashing on the way home.  So much fun and ready for some good rest :))

Thanks for having us, Papa!  We always love our visits :))

fca camp 2014

It's kind of hard to think back to two months ago, but I'm hoping to finally catch up on July and August over the new week or so. :)  Our first outing in July was to St. Simons for FCA's coach's camp.  It has been such a precious week for our family for years and this one was no different.

The guys always jump right into competition and enjoy the opportunity to be on the playing field instead of the sidelines.  AND for the first time ever, I joined in!  I was tagged to be a body in a game of "tiger ball," since they would've forfeited otherwise and it was super fun.  So thankful that no one was there to capture it on film though :))

Later, my camp buddy for years, Angie and I hit up the laundromat to get a head start on the sweaty leftovers and enjoyed the afternoon away too :)

Beauty and peace.  Everytime.

Greer really enjoyed her time with friends this time like Gehrig has the past few years...she's getting so old :(

And B and I loved a night out with other coaches and wives.  I'm so thankful that FCA sees the need that we all have to be refreshed and rested...and even provides great and fun childcare for our kids and time in the camp schedule to make it happen

Bolemon buds :)

We so missed the Donaldsons and Segars!!

The Murrays joined us this year too and we loved getting to know them more...

Every year, the morning finally comes when we can't make it for breakfast.  Or competition.  Or the first round of kid events.  I loved the sweet extended quiet time while they snoozed in the room :)

Sleepy-head late breakfast.  I love them

Beach day!

Britt & Margaret joined us too while they were down that way visiting Papa :))

Cute cousins :)

Nalls.  Special time in that room every year.

And bye-time :(.  We can't express how grateful we are to have sweet, godly friends who totally relate to our calling in life and just love us so well.  What a blessing!

If I'm honest, this year I was a little disconnected personally because of weariness and sickness...and multiple things burdening my heart that week...and yet, He faithfully met me in that and still spoke to me so much.  I love that He gives us rest and lets us be real with Him, even when it's not all pretty.  And the continuation of group texting with those ladies that pray for and love on each other so well is an added gift from Him in the day-to-day good and bad.  We don't take any of it for granted!  So thankful for FCA and for this time every year and for these people.  And mostly for the opportunity that FCA provides for us to share Him with students.  So blessed.
