adopting charlotte

Our sweet friend, Mrs. Duke, reminds us a lot of our Greer.  She is creative and fun, loved American girl dolls when she was little and has a huge giving heart and love for the Lord.  One day last month, she totally blessed Greer by bringing over one of her childhood AG dolls and lots and lots of accessories to give to Greer to keep.  After having to work so long to save up for her other one, this was the sweetest treat for Greer.  And so much fun to watch her enjoy the other side of generosity :)

(Meanwhile, Garner made a scarf of Mrs. Duke's hair :))

We didn't see Greer for hours afterwards and later found this...her closet transformed into a giant dollhouse, complete with beds and closets etc.  Love it and her so much :)

So thankful for sweet friends and families who love us and our kids so well.  We are humbled and overwhelmed by His kindness through them all :)

october miscellaneous

Gehrig loves every minute of any football game, but the girls aren't quite as enthusiastic ;).  They love their daddy though and have spent much time at sporting events as coach's kids.  Those years of experience have taught them to pack entertainment and this particular game, they were especially prepared ;)

Playdate with Brooks :)

This day, Greer put on a dress with a long sleeved shirt on top for her outfit...she has always been her own fashionista :).  But recently, she has gained a sweet copycat :))

This football novel from the library had Gehr absorbed for 3 full days until he finished the whole thing.  A boy after his mama's heart :)

FCA mornings at the middle school this year...so thankful!

Have we mentioned that we are glad the Links moved back? ;)  Sure does make random playdates easier with these...love all their sweet smiles :))

Reading to head out for errands ;)

A good Sunday afternoon...beautiful weather and a great read...and a good hiding-place from my to-do list :)

Fun having Link company for this school day...

October-themed sensory bin (thanks Jenn!)

And I got to be a mama of 6 for the afternoon...love :)

Day in the life...

And a fancy date night...not a common event in our lives :))

That same evening...we made a quick wardrobe change and headed to the high school for B to speak to 5th quarter after the game...love watching him lead so well :)

Our favorite Sunday night view

Fun doing school with Daddy

Monster week for Garner ;)

And co-op art for Greer...painting like Michelangelo

Then science fun :)

The girls wanted to dance to Mr. Chad's CD in his honor :)

B took care of bedtime one night and I found them like this...can't describe how thankful I am for every day with them

Matching monsters :)

And pulling teeth...Mrs. Rucker is the master :)

Concert date night with buds :)

Sweet Aunt Lindsey sent the girls matching outfits for them and their dolls...they LOVE them!  Garner only takes hers off long enough to wash it :)

Before passing on the ErgoBaby carrier for good, I had to put Garner in it one last time.  She didn't seem to remember how much she used to love it ;)

More matching!  Madi gave Greer pjs for her and Isabelle...so cute

Five Little Pumpkins week

Making up her own matches now ;))

B had his first sports banquet as head coach and athletic director.  Cannot express how proud I am of him!  Tears rolled as they expressed their thanks for all he's done there this year...and even gave him a standing O :))

Love these days with them...

Schoolwork with candy?!  Yes please!!

Garner's current way of writing her name :)

Miss Priss...she wants to wear this skirt and a purse every day...

I.love.fall.weather.  And am SO thankful for early afternoon time on the weekdays with my cute hubby this year...can't give thanks enough for the gift of his new job :)

We have all loved Missionary Stories with the Millers before bed...highly recommend for the whole family :)

More "Five Little Pumpkins" fun...

Treat night for Daddy and Gs to celebrate Garner's successful giving-up of her paci :)

A little bit of a cultural education for Greer...heard some new music and saw some new moves when we went to pick up Daddy from the middle school dance haha ;)

We ran into Garner's buddy, Millie, at the high school football game that Friday night...she was so thankful for a playmate to distract her from the typical boredom :))

Snaggle tooth cuteness

And Garner's first french braid...

"Do I look pretty, Mama?"

And too much cuteness to not snap a pic...the feet sticking out, the hair, the outfit and the left-handed cutting.  I love her

All in for the pumpkin craft :)

And her fall sensory bin...she loves these so much!

Making up songs...about Jesus and Abe Lincoln :)

A co-op harvest party fun

Fun playdate with Sam :)

And super sweetness reading to her sister

Again, Garner copying Greer :))

And changing later that day for the evening's festivities :)

With the amazing weather, daddy finishing football and lots of fun activities, October may be our favorite month of the year...thankful hearts as we head to the end of the year and holiday season :))
