As we worked on our PA travel plans a few months ago, B suggested we take advantage of being so close to NYC and take the kids to check it out. I'm so glad that he did :)). We drove from Uncle Bill's house to Trenton, NJ early one morning and hopped on the NJ transit to ride in to the city with all of the commuters. It was an early morning, but they/we were pumped :))
The train ride lasted about an hour...they settled in and Greer made sure Isabelle was ready for her visit to the city :)

Mammaw helped with our hotel and the kids thought it was the best thing ever to stay above Chocolate World ;)
After we dropped off our things there, we hopped back on the subway to head to the Yankees game. We were incredibly gifted with tickets to a suite there and truly loved it all :)
The suite access also allowed us easy entry into the Yankees museum. So very cool to see all of the Lou Gehrig memorabilia. No one misunderstood our Gehrig's name when they asked there :))

Truly the most enjoyable way to enjoy a 1pm game in the middle of summer :)). So thankful
Even the girls would jump at the opportunity to go to a Yankees game again...will have to make sure they know this wasn't the normal experience :))
From there, we rode the subway straight from Brooklyn all the way down to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty. The 45min journey gave this one time for a good rest :)

From there we walked up to the World Trade Center memorial and new WTC...it was beyond moving to see it all completed. We haven't been there in years, since it was covered in construction. They've done an incredible job...we didn't anticipate feeling so emotional and it truly allowed our kids to get a better picture of all that happened that horrible day in 2001. I'm so glad for the time there...

We walked from there to meet B's cousin, Sam and his sweet bride, Jen for lunch. They were so much fun and it was a great way to wrap up our time there. Wish we had gotten a pic!
We grabbed our things from the hotel and caught a train back out of the city. What a fun whirlwind with my favorite people...we will remember it forever :))
