fca camp 2013

Until a couple of weeks before, we thought this would be the first year of many that we didn't make it to FCA camp.  Some funding stuff changed and it was an expense larger than we could incur. Thankfully, the Lord provided just in time, knowing that this was a year that we more-than-ever needed that encouragement and fellowship with other Christian coaches and families.

Anyone will tell you that it's absolutely beautiful and peaceful there...it's impossible to capture with pictures but man, it is so calming and holy.  We had a garden view this year and loved sitting outside of our room while the kids played and rode bikes...

Lovely Lane Chapel

Enjoying the beauty :)

We reunited quickly with camp buddies.  I couldn't help but smile that first meal when Gehrig picked up right where he left off with other coaches' kids that he loves...

And drawing in the room that evening...the bird was his prize from the camp store for the week.  He couldn't wait :)

Competition time...the one time of year that B gets to play instead of coach.  I love to watch him having so much fun out there.

Thankful for this...

We enjoyed a couple of hours at the water park nearby one afternoon (yay for an FCA discount!)...

Love our Greer ;)

Date night with the crew.  So thankful for them and their sweet friendships!

We were so grateful for the messages this week, reminding us to stay the course even when things get hard.  Encouraging and challenging and soul-searching.  We are in awe of His faithfulness to us and the way He loves through others just when/how we need it.  Picture youth camp...but for adults.  It's a mountaintop for sure :)

Since camp always falls the first week of July, we spend many Independence Days there.  Papa and Rosie were on the island too that day and took Greer for some 4th of July fun at the top of the lighthouse and to ride in the golf cart parade.  She had a blast!  Love these pics ;)

Back at camp, it was the night for the kids' performance.  They did an awesome job!

Sparklers and our buds, the Bolemon girls :)

And saying goodbye.  Thankful that these sweet families have taken us in all these years.  We love our time with them and are so blessed by their witness and love for Christ and others.

Thanks God...for getting us there again, for loving on us and encouraging our hearts that can get so weary.  We love You.
