Thankful for Thanksgiving

I LOVE Thanksgiving.

I love the colors, the fall weather, the reminder to count our blessings, time with family, having B home for a week with us and the oh-so-yummy food! I'm never ready to consider Christmas decorating until it is over for fear of overshadowing it or downplaying its importance for our family. Thankfully, B is the same way with his family having their biggest gathering of the year in Virginia over Thanksgiving. Since we weren't up for the long travel with a newborn, we missed it this year...making this only the 2nd one he's missed in his 30-something years. It was sad not to be there, but also sweet for me to celebrate this time with my family for the first time in 15 years!

I think I can safely say this was the best turkey I've ever had. So impressed with Jessica's first attempt at making one!! (And it's pretty too!)

And playing football...it's all that G wants to do now. He even said that football is now his favorite thing instead of dinosaurs! Wow.

Some Favorite Co-op Time

For months, Gehrig has been looking forward to Art Night. He absolutely loves his co-op art class and couldn't wait to show us everything he's made. So even with a 4-day-old, we couldn't miss it. The teachers did a great job displaying it all and we can't wait to frame our favorites! We are so impressed!

Then, on Friday, our group went to The Bell School. It is set in 1912 and was so much fun for them. Since Mommy and Garner weren't quite up for it, Gehrig went with the Ruckers. They were so awesome to add another to their fam for the day and Gehrig had a blast and learned a lot about how things were back then.
