Both Matt and Jenn's parents have always been so sweet to treat us as part of their families and love on us and our kids as their own. After our Wahsega trip, we finally got to go to Grama and Grampa Link's for a visit and the dads (and Garner) met us there later Friday evening after work. It was lovely from the first :)
Swinging in the sunshine
Their pecan grove is perfect for playing :)
And a little glimpse here of the triple-decker treehouse and some silly cuties...so so fun!
Grama helped the kids find their own sticks to roast hotdogs for dinner in the woods around their house...and Gehr got to whittle the ends for us :)
Fun and yummy!
Loved this time. The warm cider and smores were yummy too :))
Saturday brought more beautiful weather and fun outdoor adventures. The bigs took the daddies to the woods to show off their new shelter-building skills learned at Wahsega :))
Happy lunch on the back deck
Grama and Grandpa brought treats for all the kids from their trip out west and Greer and Mads got started immediately on their craft...
Meanwhile, the grownups rested and watched football a little bit :)
Hard to stay inside for long though. So many awesome outdoor areas to play, relax, visit and enjoy the weather. Sweet Andrew and Grama played with their kitty, Mega Bega
And checked out the fish with the girls
Big boys liked the treehouse too :)
And this was all as lovely as it appears...
So thankful for all that G&G did to prepare for and love on all of us. That's a lot of people to prep for for the whole weekend! They took care of all the food and treats and activities and even set up a tent in the basement for our kiddos to sleep in for fun. All such a sweet gift :)
Garner and Sam :)
And Pa! He lives nearby and was able to come visit for the evening...
We sadly packed up the next morning to head home, but were glad to get to see Pa again with Gretchen, Charlie and cousin Suzanne on the way out :)
We have continued to think back on how nice the weekend was and the visiting with the Links and GG (Grama's mom) too. Really love them all! Greer captured well our time with a picture she made to send to them :))
And honestly, we took a little while to adjust back to real life after 4-5 days of practically spending every minute outside (at Wahsega and then G&Gs...we SO missed the beautiful outdoors and nature all around) and spending every minute with our buds. We loved it all :))
